There has been plenty of action at the coast recently, mostly centred around Mombasa Jafferys who have hosted a number of junior and community events.
In a warm up to the upcoming Junior Tournament on 31st October, Abbasali Mawji (40*), Kazimali Jaffer (2-0-11-4) and Siddiq Samani (2-0-8-3) combined to give their side a crunching 30 run win in a 10 over match.
In a community match the following day, Arman Warriors edged out Imamia Electrocutors by just 7 runs in a tightly fought 20-20 match.
Arman Warriors batted first scoring 118/8 in their 20 overs with Aliasger Abdalla (26), Mazhar Kassamali (16)and Husayn Virjee (15*) the main contributors. Pick of the bowling for the electrocutors was Mujahid Janmohammed who took 3/11 off his 4 overs while Kumayl Virjee took 2/10.
In reply Mohammed Fazel (35) and Mohammed Merali (28) had the Electrocutors looking good until some quick wickets and tight bowling stifled the run rate leaving them 7 runs short. Pick of the Warriors bowling was Miqdad Walji (2/16) with Husein Allidina, Fazle Kassamali, Shamil Khalfan and Mujtaba Janmohammed picking up a wicket each.

Vice Chairman's XI win Mustafa Shield
Great to see Mombasa Jafferys so active - the Mustafa shield (20-20) has just been played between a Chairman's XI and a Vice Chairman's XI with the latter coming out on top by 25 Runs.
Batting first the Vice Chairman's XI lost opener Mohammed Fazal early Caught behind by Mazhar Kassamali off the bowling of Husein Alinda (2/23), but rallied with a strong partnership between Rizwan Karim (49) and Ashger Molu (28). Though both fell to Fazle Kassamali (1/18) and Mohammed Walji (1/12), it was enough to build a platform for Kumayl Virjee (19) and Ahmed Virjee (21*) who took their side to a total of 150 at the end of their 20 overs.
In reply the Chairman's XI came up against some stiff bowling and as a result lost wickets with too great a regularity. Sibtain Kassamali (2/21), Gulam abbas Kassam (2/26), Asgher Molu (2/5) and Hasnain Alidina (1/19) all picked up wickets as the chase ended on 125/9 after the 20 overs. Only Alisgher Abdalla (25), Husein Alidina (14) and Fazle Kassamali (25) got into double figures for the Chairman's XI.
There is a second tournament currently underway including three teams who play each other once before the top two face off in the final to decide the The Late Abdalla Mohamed Jaffer Trophy Mini Tournament. Matches were scheduled for 1st,8th, 15th and 22nd Novemnber. We will update results as they become available.
