Cricket Kenya name U13 squad for regionals
Cricket Kenya Press release:
Cricket Kenya wishes to inform members of the press that we will be hosting the ACA/EA Under-13 Cricket Tournament in Nakuru in the month of June. The five day event will consist of teams from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda and will run from 4th to 8th June, 2009.
The Kenya team was selected from both public and private schools at provincial level. This exercise was carried out by the provincial associations, development officers and coaches.
Trial games took place in Nakuru last Friday 22nd May at Greensteds School and 6 boys were chosen to be considered in the National/Final selection.
Nairobi trials were held at Aga Khan Sports Club on Thursday 28th May from 9am to 1pm, Saturday 30th May from 1pm to 4pm and on Monday 1st June 2009 from 9am to 1pm while those in Coast took place at Burhani Sports Club on Saturday 30th May between 9am and 12:30pm.

The final selected team leaves for Nakuru on Thursday the 4th of June 2009, after a brief media presentation at the Parklands Sports Club. The function will take place from 9.30 a.m.
Cricket Kenya in its pursuit to develop the game to further heights lays a lot of importance to such programs and thus requests all parents, sponsors and well wishers to come out in support of our youngsters over the next few days as they play against our worthy neighbouring countries.

Swamibapa take 6-a-side title

Swamibapa Cricket Club and Kanbis Sports Club dominated the Shree Cutchi Leva Patel Samaj Six A Side Three day cricket tournament which was sponsored by Tile and Carpet Centre Limited and Basco Products Limited in Nairobi during the long weekend holidays at Ngara Sports Club and SCLPJ Grounds, confirmed Subhash Modi, Hon. PRO of the tournament.
Swamibapa beat Kanbis by 9 runs in the finals of the Main Event while Bhavsinghji "A" Team from India beat Aryans XI by 5 runs in a well organised tournament which had 29 teams fighting for the top honours.
