Kenya today defeated Namibia to take the Continental U17 crown thanks mainly to a gallant effort by their spinners and some good run outs defending what initially looked to be a below par score.
Kenya were all out for 151 and defended the total thanks mainly to some great spin bowling and enthusiastic fielding which put the Namibians under pressure just when they were starting to look comfortable. Kenya won by 63 runs, a very similar margin to their defeat of Ghana and just as in the first match their oppononents will be wondering how the game eluded them from what looked like a strong position.
Full credit to the Kenyan team for their fighting spirit and for putting on pressure when they looked to be in trouble.
A full match report plus photos from the tournament will follow once internet access allows.
