One option of spreading the game outside Nairobi is organizing a four day fixture between Nairobi eleven and the Rest of Kenya.

Rest of Kenya squad will comprise of Coastal, Rift Valley and Central players.

This can become a regular event organized in smaller centers like Nakuru, Eldoret and Kerugoya which need uplifts.

Great idea - I would love to see it implemented, though realistically it will only be able to be played where there is turf wickets which would restrict it

I guess all the venues I have mentioned do have Turf wickets.
Am I correct Nick? Apart from these fields, maybe Kericho Club or Limuru? about which you had written to me once. How is the field in Limuru?
Does Nyeri have turf wickets.
I remember they had a field. Once sponsors come in things can be put in place.

I think of the above, only Nakuru actually has a serviceable turf wicket these days. Limuru used to be great (a bit of a saucer, but great wicket) but i don't think there has been a match there for ages.

Mind you with the expansion in the rift at the moment, it is certainly possible that there will be pitches brought back to life...
